…Or to give her married name, Valentina Harper! American former Graphic designer Ramos produces work in a style which has enormous charm and really taps in to the seemingly global trend for adult colouring which is sweeping the world at the moment! Highly linear in quality with pops of bright colour, Ramos’ work really appeals to me. It is the kind of thing I sit and doodle when I probably should be doing something more important! (What is more important??)
Ramos produces a wide range of imagery, incorporating everything from Cows to hummingbirds to cups and saucers to outlandish flowers. The devil really is in the detail here – the colours tend to be flatly applied and then the delicate, intricate details are added later on top, really making the images bold and interesting – you don’t know where to look first!
I love images that include birds – they are such amazing creatures and they lend themselves so well to be embellished! They can be literally translated as actual, realistic birds, or lean towards the more fantastic, such as Ramos does so well. I would like to wander through a woodland where Ramos’ birds dwell!
The patterns that this artist creates lend themselves well to tattoo designs – I am sure someone out there somewhere has, if not an actual reproduction of one of her pieces, then something resembling it! The pieces work equally well as monochrome or colour.

It’s not just fantastic flora and fauna that Ramos creates, her work incorporates kitchenalia as well…Well, I’m off for another cuppa! Stay tuned! Keep creating stuff!
