Everything stops for tea!!

Priscilla Jones is an artist I revisit time and time again in my teaching. Her work is quirky, appealing and accessible to students.
I feel that the pieces that she produces tap in to our need for re-purposing and recycling – her work often appears to be created from little bits and bobs of whatever is to hand – scraps of lace, button cards, papers and fabric. I also love the inclusion of quotes and sayings which Jones stitches in, making them an integral part of the charm of her work.
The beach hut pieces have a lovely old fashioned seaside holiday feel to them , evoking innocent days on the sand, heading back to the hut for sandy sandwiches as the sun sets!
Jones works in a very similar way to my own way of working and to another artist I will feature later – Cas Holmes.
Below are a few of Jones 3D pieces, they look like things that might appear on the Mad Hatter’s table! Totally fabulous!
I love the work of this artist – the colours, the crafty qualities they have, their sense of being slightly like little pieces of social history, their recycled-ness. Waste not, want not indeed! I will sign off for now, the kettle is boiling and there is a cup of green tea with my name on in my kitchen!
